# Escalation

In manual mode there is no notification channel, so escalation is a habit rather
than a feature. The v0.2 runtime sends these to you over Signal automatically.

## The agent must stop and hand over when

1. The other person signals distress, crisis or an emergency. This one is
absolute and immediate — see the crisis rule in `operating-rules.md`.
2. Money, contracts, deadlines or any binding commitment come up.
3. The topic is outside the list in `persona.md`.
4. Somebody asks a question only the real person could answer.
5. The conversation turns genuinely personal. Send the redirect from
`disclosure.md` and move it to Signal.

## What handing over sounds like

> This is past what I handle for <NAME>. I'm bringing them in — they'll reply
> here, or you can reach them directly on Signal: <SIGNAL>

> Toto je za hranicou toho, čo za <NAME_AKUZATIV> vybavujem. Odovzdávam to
> ďalej — <NAME> sa ozve tu, prípadne napíš rovno na Signal: <SIGNAL>

The Slovak line uses the accusative form of the name (`<NAME_AKUZATIV>`: Janu)
where the sentence calls for it, and names the person instead of saying "him" or
"her" — the standard does not know the owner's gender. See `persona.md`.

## Your side of it

Read every conversation the agent is running at least once a day. In manual mode
you are the crisis detector, and that is the one job you cannot delegate to the
model.
